✔ Packing and unpacking
You can have everything packed up by your movers or only selected items such as fragile items, antiques, art, or furniture.
When you hire packing services, your movers will make sure to use the right packing materials to prevent damage and dirt and to work efficiently to get the job done at the soonest possible time. This means you can focus on setting up your new home so it is ready once your household belongings arrive.
Definitely, you can eliminate a lot of stress and save on time and effort when you obtain packing and unpacking services. You can choose to do your own packing. Keep in mind, however, that most moving companies will not shoulder any damage for items they did not pack.
Some long distance moves may require storage. For instance, if an individual is vacating a current residence but the new home is not ready for yet, he could opt to delay transport of household belongings and put them in storage. In this case, the moving company can pick-up furniture and other items and store them in a secure warehouse until you are ready to have them delivered.
Storage services can be for short term or long term. Some moving companies offer free storage with long distance moves.
✔ Vehicle Transport
Full service moving companies can arrange for the transport of vehicles including cars, boats, motorcycles, etc.
Moving long distance might require vehicle transport for families or individuals with more than one vehicle. This service can be convenient and affordable way to get your vehicles delivered to your new location.
✔ Moving Labor
If you opted to hire a rental truck for a do-it-yourself move, it doesn’t mean you need to do everything yourself. It is possible to hire moving labor ( 2 or 3 movers) to help with packing or with loading your truck.
Many moving companies offer moving labor only at hourly rates.
You can save money from your move when you choose a reputable and experienced long distance mover.

2-bedroom home (approx. weight of 5000 pounds) will be $500 for the packing service alone. A couple of professional packers will complete the job in 3-5 hours. Packing materials will be $200.
3-bedroom home (approx. weight of 9000 pounds) will take three packers approximately 3-6 hours to pack your items packing costs will be $650 for the packing task. Packing materials will cost $300.
4-bedroom home (approx. weight of over 10,000 pounds) will cost you $850 for four packers doing what they do best for at least 5-6 hours. Packing supplies will cost you $350.
Three Levels of Packing Protection
Contrary to popular belief, a movement is what causes the most damage to boxes while shipping and moving NOT your friends and family. Even the slightest movement while in transit can cause scratches, scrapes, and chips. The best way to prevent movement inside the moving boxes and hence damage to your stuff is to select the right moving supplies and use them correctly.
Different packing supplies are designed for different purposes. Three of the primary purposes are surface protection, cushioning, and void fill. Surface protection is exactly as it sounds, you are trying to protect your valuables surface (paintings, china, furniture etc.) from suffering damage by rubbing up against other items. Supplies such as small bubble wrap, packing paper, furniture wrap, and foam sheets are wonderful for this purpose. Bubble wrap and foam are generally cut to smaller sizes so they can easily be wrapped around your smaller objects.
Packing paper and furniture pads are wider so they require a special packing trick called the wrap and roll technique. This is a fairly simple process, just lay out a sheet of paper and place the item in the middle. From here you’ll take the three corners of the paper to the center of the object. That’s the bottom and two side corners. Finally, you’ll roll the object up toward the top corner, and now you’re ready to pack the object into the moving box. You will use the wrap and roll technique on almost everything you pack with paper.
Cushioning is the second purpose for using moving supplies for protection. Cushioning is putting a protective layer around your valuable in order to prevent movement or jostling from causing the item to break. It isn’t another object that is causing the damage but the weight of the valuable itself along with gravity. An adequate layer of cushioning can prevent a lot of breakages, especially when combined with a firmly packed moving box.
All the cushioning and surface protection in the world will do no good if you have a packing box that has lots of empty space within it. That is why it is so important to pack for density by packing your moving boxes as tightly as possible. Make sure to pack all empty spaces with the right protection.
This is the third purpose of protective moving supplies – void fill. Almost all moving boxes need some sort of void fill, that is something to fill up the empty space once the box has been loaded with its primary object. Void fill doesn’t have to be a specially designed supply you buy at a store, it can anything soft that aren’t easily damaged by movement. Pillows, towels, clothes, bedding, paper towels are all good examples of void fill that you don’t have to buy.
Some moving supplies that serve the purpose are larger bubble wrap, packing wrap, and packing peanuts. Whether using your own homemade void fill or you buy some the most important thing is that there is no movement within the box. A good test is if the box rattles or makes a noise then items could be damaged.
